What we collect about you

Very little. This site is a set of static pages with no accounts, no forms, no comments and no newsletter. Our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard server logs.

We count page views with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser and does not follow you from site to site. It records the page you viewed, the site that sent you, your browser and device type and your country, and we only see those as totals.

We also use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, and the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel. Google Analytics counts visits and shows us which pages people use. The Meta pixel lets JM Digital, the business that runs this directory, show its own ads to people who have visited this site and to people like them. Both set cookies and send the pages you view, your rough location and your device type to Google and Meta. Nothing you type is sent, because there is nothing to type here. You can block them with a browser setting or an extension such as Google’s opt-out add-on, and manage Meta’s use of your data in your Facebook ad settings. The map pages load tiles from OpenFreeMap, which sees your IP address like any web server. The “on Google” rating links take you to Google Maps, where Google’s own privacy policy applies.

When you use a listing’s “Visit website” or “View on Google Maps” button, we count that click for the listing (which business, website or Maps, the page it came from and your country). We store no cookies, no IP address and no personal data, and the count cannot be tied back to you.

What the site says about businesses

Every listing is a business, not a person. We show the business name, address and a link to its website as published on Google Maps, together with Google’s star rating and review count, which link back to the Google listing. We do not publish email addresses, owner or staff names, or any personal profiles.

Business owners who want a listing corrected can email us. We cannot change a Google rating.

Data sources

Business locations and boundaries come from OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL), Foursquare Open Source Places, the Overture Maps Foundation and City of Edmonton Open Data. Ratings and review counts are Google’s.
